Minecraft Client & Launchers
This is where you get the PC version of Minecraft to install and play the game on our servers. Once you purchase your copy, you can use it to connect to other servers also.
Depending on how you start your Minecraft Application, you may be using a Launcher like ATLauncher, MultiMC, Twitch, FTB (Feed The Beast), Fabric, Technic Launcher, CurseForge Launcher or the default Minecraft Launcher. Our servers support the CurseForge Launcher and that will be the best way to connect and play there. This allows us to push out any updates made to the world and your launcher to ensure you see the latest features that have been made. You will always be prompted when a new release is available to update to. Everything is automated and all you have to do is sit back and let the updates begin.
Java SDK or OpenJDK
You need to have Java SDK installed on your machine so the game can communicate properly with the Minecraft Servers and notify you when there are updates. Current version we use is OpenJDK 17.0.8.
TmTmc-ResourcePack
While you can play without a texture pack or resource pack, we created this specifically for our mods and works very well on our servers. It makes all blocks appear more natural looking than the default pixelated look. We recommend this download for use in any Minecraft server you want to see more modern style blocks in-game. This is player specific, so remember what you see would not be what others would see if they do not have this Resource Pack. There are some vanilla blocks that have been updated as well to provide a more realistic looking texture.
Spigot Server
This is the home page for Spigot and have thousands of "Plugins" available that enhance the Minecraft experiences. You can download and use Spigot as your Minecraft Server. The Downloads link will take you to the BuildTools.jar file needed to compile the server code. Yes, this is getting complicated and does require some expertise in several areas. Java will also need to be installed on the server. Not all Plugins are free, so you'll have to look around for the ones you want to use. Plugins only need to be installed on the server.
PaperSpigot Server
This is the home page for PaperSpigot which is an extension of Spigot and offer many enhancements and performance improvements over Spigot. The Downloads link will take you to a downloadable JAR file that can be used to start your private server with or replace an existing Spigot.jar file. It is fairly complicated and does require some expertise in several areas to make sure it gets installed correctly. Java will also need to be installed on the server. Plugins only need to be installed on the server.
Spigot BungeeCord or Waterfall Servers
Minecraft Server owners have many needs to support better security, access and linking all their worlds together under a proxy server. This provides a single point of entry with one-to-many exit points to the Minecraft Servers. Using BungeeCord or Waterfall Server means tighter security, a single access point and adding capabilities to teleport between all worlds (not just the Nether and The_End worlds). If you join someones server and they offer a "Lobby" area, then this is what typically supports it. They way you access and login to these Servers may be different to other servers you log into.
CurseForge Server
We have several worlds running with a Forge Modded Server. This means that there are mods being used on the server which are also required on the Minecraft Client (your computer). We provide separate ModPacks with the proper version of Forge and mods needed, via CurseForge Launcher which will automatically install these files to your computer to play on our servers. Only download these modpacks from our pages to ensure you are using a safe, virus free file and the latest versions. Minecraft "Mods" are free to use based on the licensing requirements. Mods will need to be installed on the server, client or both server and client.
Griefing
Is taken seriously and a temporary or permanent ban can be placed on any player account caught doing this. Griefing is a term used when player one has created or built something and protected it by paying/renting/leasing the land where the build is on. Any player caught going onto another players residence/building area without the owners permission and make "ANY" change to the other players residence could constitute griefing. This could be as innocent as making grass grow, planting a flower or breaking/removing any block on that property. Even if it looks nice - changes without their permission may not be allowed.
Grinding
Is sometimes specific to a certain size of the mobs. Tall mobs usually refer to tall hostile mobs, namely skeletons, zombies and creepers or zombie pigmen (two blocks tall). The small mobs are like spiders, chickens, pigs, wolves, sheep, ocelots and cows. (one block tall). Due to the nature in how each mob work, setting up an automated way to kill these mobs to get their loot can cause serious lag (slowness) of the server are only enabled in special circumstances. Any new grinder created by a player may not be allowed unless pre-approved by admins of the server. Another term widely used is "mob farms". It's a great way to get your levels up quickly but can cause performance issues depending on the size and quantity of them on the server. Always check with the server moderators/administrators before building any!
TNT
We all know that TNT goes boom when lit. On Minecraft this is not much different than the real world in the mass destruction it can cause. In our servers, you must be very careful not to destroy someones build or even your own. This would be considered griefing if you placed TNT down next to someones home or build and blew up everything they worked hard on to create. You CAN and WILL be banned for doing this, so please do not!
Cheating
There is a fine line between what someone would call cheating and what is called helpful. As a player in a game, you can use the tools above to help you learn the game more quickly. This isn't cheating exactly, but using a "command" in the game that gives you items not otherwise found naturally, could be considered cheating. For example, I could craft a Stick and Coal to make a torch using the crafting/workbench and some wood, planks and coal. Alternatively, if I cheated I could type in a command and simply create a torch in one step. That's giving you an unfair advantage over other players and is considered cheating. Not all commands are considered cheating, so you have to check with the Administrator or Moderator of the site you play on to find out their rules. Every Server could be quite different, so you don't want to get kicked off or even banned from playing there, for any misunderstandings. Some servers even have anti-cheat mods/plugins installed and will alert staff if you attempt to do so.
